LISA KINZELBERG

Biography

Lisa Kinzelberg is a fine artist based in Chicago. She produces paintings that include large-scale abstracts, portraits and figurative works that communicate a quiet yet powerful energy that speaks to the awe of our humanity, spirituality and conscious being. Coming from a long line of prominent musicians and percussionists, Lisa paints like a drummer or conductor, focusing on rhythm and movement. She intentionally interrupts lines, sculpts and composes the surface of her compositions, strategically covering and revealing markings to produce a highly evocative composition, color field, texture and energy. Her abstracts evoke urban buildings or natural surfaces, like water, stone, rock, pavement, sky and brick. Lisa’s and is part of private collections around the U.S. She was recently featured in Hinsdale Living for her recent group show at Virgil Catherine Gallery, on the cover of Sheridan Road Magazine for her 2019 show at Vivid Gallery in Winnetka, Illinois as well as in the Spring 2019 issue of North Shore Modern Luxury Magazine as a "local influencer."
